-----WHAT FOLLOWS FALLS INTO TWO MAIN SECTIONS........
[1] A CHART of 148 countries showing their death rates in descending order. [About 50 countries are omitted presumably because they have tiny populations]. A supplementary section lists a few countries which recorded no covid cases, and cursory research shows that these countries did impose lockdowns.
[2] A LIST of a handful of countries from [1] which had no lockdowns. [ By "no lockdowns" refers to those which did not close businesses or schools or mandate social distancing, impose isolation, or mandate mask wearing - but some border controls were imposed].
NOTE.
On perusing those countries which did not impose heavy social restrictions on the citizenry, readers will appreciate that there are cultural differences between these countries. Some, particularly Eastern cultures, take to masking and isolating in times of medical warnings more readily than Western countries. However, since there are also several Western countries among those which did not impose lockdowns then too much should not be made of this difference.
Note too, that the death rate will increase from what is shown in chart [1] since population is constant, BUT as more testing is carried out the ratio of deaths to "cases" will decrease significantly.
Yesterday's post for Australian numbers showed a death rate by population of 0.0006% and a death rate by "cases" [infections] of 0.0038%.

Uruguay SOURCE: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COVID-19_pandemic_lockdowns#Countries_and_territories_without_lockdowns HOW DID THE NON-RESTRICTIVE COUNTRIES FARE COMPARED TO COUNTRIES WITH HEAVY RESTRICTIONS? DID THEY HAVE A HIGHER RATE OF DEATHS? Their position on the Ladder of 148 countries is as follows....... BELARUS 50th ICELAND 25th [Estim. not charted due to low population - 10 deaths ] JAPAN 97th LATVIA 83rd MALAWI 110th NICARAGUA 79th SOUTH KOREA 107th SWEDEN 6th TAIWAN over 150th [ Just 7 deaths in population of 24 million] TIMOR-LESTE over 150th [ Zero deaths, 24 cases recovered, 1.3 mill pop.] URUGUAY 91st VARIOUS STATES IN USA - While it would be interesting to work out deaths by population across various states, the above examples should suffice for our comparison. NOTE. [1] Iceland and Timor-Leste were not listed in CHART [1] because of small populations but their death rates have been calculated per million. [2] Taiwan is not listed in CHART [1] either but that is because China does not consider that it is a legitimate independent country and hence the WHO does not list it [make your own conclusion about the China-WHO connection]. ===================== ============================== ===== ---------- CONCLUSION: The conclusion, dear readers, is left to you. No one can say to themselves or to others: "I am only alive because the government imposed lockdowns" because we are dealing with statistical models, trends and hypotheticals on a large canvas. Note though, that should you voice your opinion that lockdowns were an unnecessary imposition that did more harm than good, then someone will shout in your face: "My good friend died of covid and you are an inhuman monster". Emotion is understandable in this issue and it very difficult for those directly affected to separate facts from personal experience. Many other issues are raised here both with the general situation of the "pandemic", the controls in place, and the low impact shown above on countries which did not impose strict controls on their people. When compared too, to other diseases such as TB and the Flu which claim as many or even more lives without the declaration of "pandemic" and associated strict mitigation measures, this has given rise to conspiracy theories [ which may turn out to be facts] regarding the controls, e.g. the financial system changes and abolition of cash, personal privacy breaches including tracking, tracing and facial recognition, the mandating of measures which may become permanent, concerns that big Pharma is running the narrative to impose mandatory vaccines along with a social credit system, and so on ........ but these are matters for other posts [some of which have already been published on this web site - check the labels in the column on the right for related issues].
